In the heart of Berlin, at the vibrant Reload Land, and the picturesque Pesto, we dive into the world of RGNT, a Swedish brand that’s redefining electric motorcycles with a retro twist. Born from a vision during a trip to Beijing, RGNT has transformed the noisy streets into silent byways with their sleek, hub motor-powered e-bikes.

The Genesis of RGNT Motorcycles

The journey began in 2019 when Jonathan Ostrom, RGNT’s former CEO and founder, was inspired by Beijing’s swift shift from combustion engines to electric. Captivated by the quiet efficiency of hub motors, he brought this technology back to Sweden, aiming to merge classic motorcycle aesthetics with cutting-edge electric capabilities.

The Design Philosophy: A Nod to the Classics

RGNT motorcycles are not just about advanced technology; they’re a tribute to the legendary designs of yesteryears like the Triumph Bonneville and classic Hondas. The goal is to offer hassle-free ownership without sacrificing the charm and appeal of vintage models. This blend ensures that every ride is not just about getting from point A to B but about enjoying a timeless experience updated with modern technology.

Riding the RGNT: First Impressions

Our test ride features two models: the Scrambler and the Classic. Starting on the Scrambler, the ride is smooth and exhilarating, characterized by excellent acceleration and responsive brakes. The bike’s weight adds stability, making it ideal for both city rides and cruising through the countryside.

Switching to the Classic, the difference is palpable. It feels lighter and more nimble, offering a relaxed riding posture and equally impressive performance. Both models feature a large, easy-to-read display that complements their stylish design without compromising functionality.

Technical Specifications and Features

  • Power Modes: Three riding modes adjust the power from 9 kilowatts in normal mode up to 21 kilowatts in boost mode.
  • Battery and Range: Designed for sustainability, the bikes boast local European components, including a Swedish-made battery case. The range reaches up to 150 kilometers with a top speed of 120 km/h.
  • Charging and Convenience: Type 2 charging inlet allows for easy recharging at home or public stations. Keyless start and an innovative reverse gear enhance user convenience.
  • Sustainability Focus: Emphasizing eco-friendliness, 80-90% of the bike’s components are sourced from Europe, reducing transportation emissions and supporting local industries.

Conclusion: A Seamless Merge of Past and Future

RGNT motorcycles stand out by successfully merging historical elegance with contemporary technology, providing an eco-friendly solution without compromising on style or performance. Whether it’s the urban chic of Berlin or the scenic routes of Pesto, these bikes promise a unique and sustainable riding experience.
